中国禁止向日本出口两用物项
| China banned exports to Japan of goods that can be used for either civilian or military purposes. The Commerce Ministry catalog of so-called "dual-use" items includes rare earth elements, advanced electronics, aerospace and aviation components, drones and nuclear-related technology. The ministry said the ban is effective immediately. China supplies about 60 percent of Japan's need for rare earths essential in automaking and other industries. China earlier took steps to restrict seafood imports from Japan and urged Chinese tourists to avoid Japan. Bilaterial relations have soured since early November, when then new Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi made remarks about Taiwan that Beijing called provocative. China's Xinhua news agency last month commented on an alarming a militaristic tone in Japanese government policies. Memories of Japanese atrocities and occupation during the Second World War remain fresh in China. | |

英伟达发布让汽车像人类一样“思考”的新技术
| Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang announced a new tech platform called Alpamayo that he said will help self-driving cars think like the drivers they replace. He unveiled the platform at the annual CES technology conference in Las Vegas. "Alpamayo brings reasoning to autonomous vehicles, allowing them to think through rare scenarios, drive safely in complex environments and explain their driving decisions," Huang told the conference. A vehicle equipped with the technology, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, will be released in coming months in the US before being rolled out in Europe and Asia, the BBC reported. Nvidia also said it's working with robotaxi operators on use of the company's AI chips and Drive AV software stack to power their fleets. | |

中国高级外交官抨击“世界警察、世界法官”做派
| Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in his first public comment since the US captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and said it is taking over the oil-rich nation, said Beijing cannot accept any country acting as the "world's police or judge." He made the remarks in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar. "The sovereignty and security of all countries should be fully protected under international law," Wang said, without mentioning the US by name. US President Donald Trump said American oil companies will invest billions of dollars to fix Venezuela's decaying oil infrastructure and recoup the losses they suffered when Venezuela nationalized the industry in the early 2000s. | |

三星将把 Gemini AI 在移动设备中的应用规模扩大一倍
| South Korea's Samsung Electronics, a major rival with Chinese domestic firms in consumer electronics, said it plans to double the number of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices with AI features powered by Google's Gemini to 800 million this year, Reuters reported. "We will apply AI to all products, all functions and all services as quickly as possible," co-Chief Executive T M Roh told the news agency. Samsung is seeking to reclaim the top spot in the global smartphone market lost to Apple last year, and to fend off competition from Chinese rivals not only in mobile devices but also in televisions and home appliances. | |

中国、俄罗斯等国批评美国对委内瑞拉的袭击
| China and Russia led condemnation of a US surprise attack on Venezuela that bombed military sites around the capital Caracas and captured President Nicolas Madruo and his wife. China said it is "deeply shocked and strongly condemns the blatant use of force against a sovereign state and its president." The foreign ministry in Beijing said the US action breaches international law and Maduro should be released immediately. Russia said there is no legitimate rationale for the attack, calling it "extremely concerning" and demonstrating "ideological animosity over pragmatism." In Latin America, Brazil, Columbia and Mexico also condemned US aggression, but Argentina called Maduro's ouster "excellent news." Europeans expressed support for international laws of sovereignty, while championing the need for democracy in Venezuela.
The US dispatched 150 aircraft and a special operations team to Caracas early on Saturday, bombing military targets around the capital and arresting Maduro. The president and his wife were flown to New York to stand trial on charges of narco-terrorism. Venezuela said many of Maduro's security team were killed during the raid. US President Donald Trump said the US is going to be calling the shots in oil-rich Venezuela until a "proper" transition of power is possible. American oil companies, he said, will invest billions of dollars to rebuild the nation's decaying oil infrastructure. Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, who took interim control of the government, said in a televised address that the nation will defend itself from illegal "military aggression." US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington isn't at war with Venezuela. Most Western countries didn't recognize Maduro as president, calling his 2024 re-election a sham. A bus driver who rose to prominence as a trade union leader, Maduro, 63, succeeded an ailing President Hugo Chavez in 2013. His capture was the largest US intervention in Latin America since 1989, when Washington ousted Panamanian military leader Manuel Noriega and imprisoned him on drug charges similar to those laid against Maduro. Ironically, Trump last month pardoned former Honduran President Juan Hernandez, who was jailed on drugs charges in 2024. |

Oil Seen Broadly Stable as Jittery Financial Markets Set to Open
在金融市场情绪紧张、即将开盘之际,油价整体预计保持稳定
| Oil prices are unlikely to be disrupted significantly by the US weekend attack on Venezuela, though all financial markets are in for a jittery start on Monday, CNBC reported. Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world, but its production has dwindled to less than 1 percent of global output amid sanctions, mismanagement and crumbling infrastructure. US oil companies that Trump said will rebuild Venezuela's oil production were kicked out of Venezuela in 2001 when Caracas nationalized the oil industry. Venezuela is a founding member of OPEC. Eight members known as OPEC+ held a regularly scheduled virtual meeting on Sunday, making no change in ongoing plans to keep oil output steady. Venezuela was not discussed, one delegate said. | |

AI 专家警告:技术可能主导人类
| The world "may not have time" to prepare for the safety risks posed by cutting-edge AI systems, according to David Dalrymple, a leading figure in the UK government's scientific research agency.
He told the Guardian people should be concerned about the growing capability of the technology. "It's not science fiction to project that within five years, most economically valuable tasks will be performed by machines at a higher level of quality and lower cost than by humans," he said. "We will be outcompeted in all the domains where we need to be dominant to maintain control of our civilization and planet." Dalrymple said there is a wide gap between public understanding and looming AI breakthroughs that don't have sufficient safeguards. |

比亚迪取代特斯拉,成为全球最大的电动车制造商
| Chinese auto giant BYD toppled Tesla as the world's biggest seller of electric cars in 2025. The milestone is an ironic twist for Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk, who famously ridiculed BYD vehicles in a 2011 interview. Shenzhen-based BYD said sales of its battery-powered cars rose 28 percent last year to 2.3 million. US-based Tesla reported annual sales fell 9 percent to 1.6 million. BYD shares in Hong Kong rose 3.6 percent; Tesla shares in New York dropped 2.6 percent. In another milestone for the green vehicle industry, Norway reported that 96 percent of all new cars sold in the country last year were electric.
BYD was founded by chemist and entrepreneur Wang Chuanfu in 1995 as a battery maker. The company went public in 2002 and a year later, created the auto unit. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway took a nearly 10 percent stake in the company in 2008, but has since sold it for a reported return of nearly 4,000 percent. BYD also has interests in electronic devices, semiconductors, energy storage and monorails. |
